I purchased this high chair for my 7 month old grandson and my daughter's primary requirement was that it have a plastic cover, not fabric. My daughter likes the ease of being able to wipe up messes as opposed to having to wash a fabric cover. She loves the multiple trays and chair pads. It folds up very easily and takes up less space than other high chairs. When they first put the chair together my grandson started screaming...he loves the colors!

We have had horrible experiences dealing with Chicco's customer service department. We were simply missing one of the accoutrement pieces to our item. First they emailed back and said that they were out and couldn't help, then they emailed and asked for pictures, verifying documents, and serial numbers / control numbers. Two months after beginning our conversations with them we are still no closer to getting anything than when we started.

I think Chicco is all about selling you something without support, which is much different than our experience with other manufacturers of baby products. We think it is important that the company that sells us something keeps their promises and supports parents the best that they can to make sure that their children are safe and comfortable. Chicco is not a company that lives up to that standard.

I really don't like the belt mechanism on this high chair, either. We've been much happier with a different less expensive high chair.

This was one of our 'first time parent' mistake buys. We mistakenly thought that since it was supposed to be a slim fold chair that it would not take up much space. Very wrong. It's really a very big chair with a very big tray and a very big spread to the base. The base at least has the advantage that it makes the chair very stable but there aren't any benefits to the other big items. The tray is too large for my 16 month old to reach to the far side anyway and it just gets in the way and makes it hard to work around and hard to clean. I also echo the comment from other reviewers about the ridge in the edge - it collects food and dirt and is impossible to clean - very poor design and unhygenic. Having the t-bar portion attached to the tray is not the way to go either. It's less secure when putting the child in and it means the only place to put the messy tray to get the child out is across the arms of the adult chairs. It won't sit nicely on a table without spilling all the left over food unless you pull off the removeable part first. No benefit to that and just makes the process of getting our daughter in and out more cumbersome. The straps in the seat even at their tightest are only now getting a little snug - my daughter is 16 months. If you have a very large baby or older child that's probably okay, but not if you want to secure a little one. Also, supposedly this chair locks in the folded position, but ours never did which makes transporting it a pain.

My parents got a nice, compact similarly priced Combi that is well designed and even has an insert with toys on it to keep the child entertained while the rest of the family finishes eating. It is everything this chair not. We bought the Chicco on the recommendation of the Baby Bargains book, which we've generally been pleased with, but they really got this one wrong.

I do really like this highchair, I love the colors and how easy the tray is to get off and on. The chair was a little different than I pictured it to be so I was just a little disappointed but still very happy with the chair. I had an Eddie Bauer chair and HATED it so I choose to buy this one and it is much much better. I also like that the things that cover the tray are very easy to clean and they give you an extra one!!

Maybe the title is a little harsh but.... As other people have mentioned, the t-bar is attached to the tray. That really makes it difficult to secure a squirming kid when you don't have the solid post in the seat. Attaching the tray to the chair is really difficult as you have to aligning two grooves by feel and then slide the tray towards your kid (hope they aren't pushing against you). It only took a month to get a good feel on that. The lap belt has an odd fastex buckle arrangement that generally works well. But I did manage to get it mislatched once, requiring a big screw driver and wide mouth pliers to fix. Not a lot of fun.

The chair cushions (two of them) collect all the food and milk scraps and are very difficult to clean. If you get them wet, it takes days to dry them out as the batting is very absorbent. There is a hidden ledge under the pads where milk puddles. You cannot clean it unless you fold the chair and then pop the covering piece off. Had to look hard for that, but the stench of bad milk and spit-up finally led me to the source. The straps/harness don't wash clean even in the washing machine. The tray stores on the back of the chair, again this is something you are generally doing blind as you can't see the holes to match the tabs. Folding the chair up for storage has been a pain as the locks in the top of the a-frame are iffy and the legs will unfold about half the time. When the folded chair is locked, it's top-heavy and easy to tip over.

We had a Chicco car seat and loved it, but this high chair has been the pits. I suggest you not purchase the Polly.
